Job Description

Job Title:
Radiation Therapist Assignment Length:
13 weeks with possible extension
Location:
Detroit, MI Shift:
7:30AM - 4:00
PM, Monday-Friday Pay Rate:
$71/hour
Job Summary:
Would be working on True Beams and would be working with 1 or 2 other individuals on shift. No On Call No Weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews patient prescriptions to ascertain type of treatment required, location of affected areas, history of previous radiation treatment, etc. Safely positions patients utilizing immobilization devices. Utilizes appropriate treatment accessories as prescribed by the physician. Operates treatment machine (linear accelerator, HDR) precisely. Administers ionizing radiation as prescribed per physician. Verifies radiation prescription prior to treatment and confirms total radiation dose following treatment in patient charts. Documents treatment in inpatient charts. Localizes patient markings daily. Completes on-going imaging of patients per departmental policy. Assists patients in coordinating appointment time for daily treatments, accommodating patient transportation, and other appointments. Perform other job duties as needed or assigned by the client.
Job Requirements:
Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Current A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification Current BLS certification Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience.
