Category Radiation Therapy - Radiation Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a vital role as a radiation therapist, supporting patients through their oncology treatment journeys. This contract opportunity offers a rewarding environment for professionals skilled in delivering precise radiation therapy, working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of safe and effective patient care.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy. Valid certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy. State licensure as required. Solid knowledge of modern radiation therapy equipment and treatment planning systems. Strong communication skills and commitment to compassionate patient care. Experience in a clinical or hospital oncology setting preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately deliver prescribed radiation treatments under physician direction. Operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy machines, ensuring safety and calibration standards are met. Review and interpret treatment plans, ensuring precise patient positioning and immobilization. Monitor patients for side effects or complications, reporting concerns to the care team. Maintain clear and thorough documentation throughout each course of therapy. Provide education and reassurance to patients and their families regarding procedures and what to expect.
