1 Description American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification and graduation from a CAHEA-approved program for a Radiation Oncology department, with experience in advanced modalities including brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. Details Work in a hospital Radiation Oncology department Clinic hours are 6:00 AM-6:00 PM; shifts will vary within those hours Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week Day shift position with no on-call or weekend requirements Holiday coverage may be required as needed Elekta equipment experience preferred This is a temp-to-perm opportunity Requirements Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) Active ARRT (Radiation Therapist) certification required License required if applicable No minimum prior experience required Additional Information Administer routine and complex radiation therapy treatments including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians Enter data and set controls to operate, adjust, and regulate treatment equipment and dosage Maintain patient and billing records in accordance with department policies, including radiation dosage, equipment settings, and patient reactions Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines Prepare equipment and treatment room for each patient and utilize appropriate protective equipment Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists
