share to e-mail Tweet share to twitter Share on Facebook share to facebook Share on LinkedIn share to linkedin Current Team Member - Apply Now Apply Now Save Job Job Saved Job Description Position Summary $7,500 Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates These professionals calibrate and set up radiation therapy equipment and position patients to ensure accurate treatments and pinpoint radiation doses to tumor areas, minimizing exposure to normal and critical surrounding structures. This work must be performed with the highest level of accuracy to achieve the expected treatment outcome. The Radiation Therapists are accountable for maintaining daily quality assurance measures on the linear accelerators and other departmental equipment. In addition, the Radiation Therapists instruct radiation therapy students, medical physics graduate students, medical residents, and other healthcare providers on the operation of radiation therapy machines and explain and demonstrate specific procedures and techniques; and provide assistance on cancer research projects. Minimum Requirements Current RT (R) (T) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology American Heart Association BLS Certification Associate Degree or higher 10+ years of related experience Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation and certification eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Health About The Outer Banks Hospital The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department. OBH is fully accredited, provides high quality care in a compassionate environment to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, and has been nationally recognized for outstanding patient care.
