Job Description

Where You'll Work At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. Job Summary and Responsibilities $2,500 sign-on bonus and $10,000 educational assistance available to external candidates! Administers radiation treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist. Maintains daily records on each patient. Performs simulations and makes custom blocks. Participates in Quality Assurance monitoring and quality control checks on the equipment. Cares for patients of all ages, with a variety of malignant and/or sometimes benign diseases. Greets patients utilizing AIDET, verifies patients in identification, reviews charts for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions. Informs patients and families about the treatment process and answers questions. Prepares patients for treatment. Positions equipment according to plan. Takes portal films or IGRT scans to ensure treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed. Verifies proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patients as prescribed by physicians.
