Hiring Range :
$44.50 - $64.53 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate positive interactions and communications with coworkers, patients, management, and other hospital departments and works with the care team to provide high quality, compassionate, and consistent care. Helps maintain work area and proper supplies in the treatment and simulation areas. Maintains efficient schedule by cooperating with team members and maintaining good workflow processes. Reports any equipment problems to the vendor and physicist promptly, and assists, if required, to investigate problem. Delivers radiation treatment according to the prescription and treatment plan. Simulates all patients according to the PCTPN. Ensures safety in patient care through the consistent practice of departmental procedures for treatment administration. Treatment delivery includes identifying correct patient, escorting patient to treatment room, assisting patient onto the treatment table, positions patient for treatment, delivers radiation from the control room and assists the patient in exiting the treatment room. Assures the quality of treatment delivery through the complete and accurate documentation of treatment records. Recognizes deviation from prescribed treatment delivery and reports all deviations to the Chief Therapist and/or Physicist. Uses effective communication techniques and interpersonal skills to provide explanations for treatment-related procedures. Explains treatment procedures to patient and/or family. Refers medical questions to appropriate personnel. Responds effectively to patient concerns. Observes patients for expected and unexpected reactions to treatments and communicates this to appropriate staff members. Performs and documents daily and weekly QA. Notifies appropriate clinical team members and documents of findings outside the normal range of operations. Participates in programs to measure and improve the quality of care within the Radiation Department. Able to use critical thinking to trouble shoot and often fix common quality issues. Captures and verifies patient treatment charges
Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
Graduate from an accredited radiation therapy program with a minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Licensed Radiation Therapist. Must have exposure to special procedures. This position is the Sr. Therapist with ability to help elevate team members. Certifications /
Licensures:
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiation Therapy credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. as a Radiation Therapist. Licensed by the NYSDOH as a Radiation Therapist. BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date

Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive. Excellent customer service skills and must display integrity, friendliness, and compassion. Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with others. Must be flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow both personally and organizationally. Problem solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products:
Outlook, Word, Excel Strong organizational skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.
