Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Covers the radiation oncology department as necessary in the absence of the Radiation Services Director. Serves as a mentor to employees in all areas of the department. Participates in the instruction of newly hired radiation therapy staff and radiation therapy students on all essential equipment and necessary computer programs (Record and Verify, CT, EMR). Assist and participate in continued or additional training of software, additional treatment modalities, or treatment advancements when necessary. Maintains the radiation therapists work schedule to monitor hours and over time. Maintain the rotation calendar for the radiation therapists to ensure staff are properly maintaining the required skills and knowledge to perform all job functions. Monitors that documentation and required tasks for each patient are completed in a timely manner. Participates in maintaining the treatment schedule and the CT Simulation schedule. Participates in the daily charge review to ensure accurate and complete billing on all patients. May assist in the development of QA procedures and accreditation application. Participate in startup and shut down procedures of all radiation therapy department equipment. Participate in all required chart checks before, during, and at completion of a patient radiation course. Accurately interprets all orders, treatment plan and necessary positioning requirements. Accurately deliver and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist. Maintains supplies and notifies the Radiation Services Director with ordering needs. Maintains linen supply and ordering. Reports all variance and near misses to physician, physics and the Radiation Services Director. Effectively communicates with the physician regarding patient care or concerns. Effectively communicates with Radiation Services Director with ongoing departmental issues or concerns.Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program. Minimum of 3 years of actively practicing as anRTT. ARRT
certification required. BLS certification required. Valid Texas license for radiation therapy required.Benefits:
