POSITION SUMMARY
Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, including patient and family education. Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols, or pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to improve care and practice to enhance outcomes. Ensure improvements in practice settings by taking responsibility for self development. Will provide care as a team with the radiology staff, such as but not limited to: Ambulation of the patient Lifting, turning, and repositioning of patients in a wheelchair or on the MRI table. Collaborating with nurses, MDs, and other patient care specialties Transport patients to/from the radiology department to the MRI suite. Monitor patient during the MRI procedure. Notify MRI technician of any abnormal findings before, during or after the procedure. Utilize professional communication skills with patients and/or family members in order to provide excellent customer service. The MRI Imaging assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks that support both the MRI technologist and the Radiology department and ensures patient safety and comfort.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education High School Diploma Minimum Experience N/A Required Registration/License/Certification BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire date I.A, (MR) must be obtained with 24 months of hire. Preferred Education N/A Preferred Experience 1 year or more of Radiology/MRI MCT experience. Preferred Registration/License/Certification BLS certification Other Requirements This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work with others. It is a vital part of the MRI team, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of patient care.
