1 Description American Traveler is hiring a MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, requiring ARRT certification and experience with a full range of MR procedures. Details Hospital-based radiology department at a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with a Level
III NICU
Inpatient and outpatient setting serving adult patients and occasional pediatric outpatients and ED patients Performs MR procedures including Head/Neck, Abdomen, Pelvis, Spine, Extremities, and MRAs 1:1 patient ratio with an average of 4 patients/hour (approximately 40 patients/day) Uses Siemens Espree 1.5T MRI equipment Charting via Cerner EMR 8-hour mid shifts from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, 40 hours/week May float to different areas within the main Radiology department Weekend rotation approximately once a month, subject to change based on departmental needs On-call is voluntary Requirements Current BLS and ARRT certification required ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT certification required AL state license preferred; license required if applicable Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience Proficiency with full range of MR procedures including Head/Neck, Abdomen, Pelvis, Spine, Extremities, and MRAs Experience with Siemens Espree 1.5T preferred Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility DOB (day and month) and one reference from a charge-level or above position from the past 12 months required for consideration Additional Information Orientation consists of one 8-hour hospital orientation followed by 2-3 shifts on the unit alongside another tech on day shift On weekends, MRI is staffed by one tech and a possible student; on Fridays, two techs are on until 7:30 PM Centralized transport is available Mon-Fri 6:30 AM-5:30 PM and Sat-Sun 7:00 AM-3:30 PM; techs may assist with patient transport to and from the department on weekends Holiday coverage follows facility policy, with one major and one minor seasonal holiday expected; scheduling for those holidays is not guaranteed in advance RTO requests exceeding 7 days must be approved by the manager via email; contract extension may be required to accommodate extended time off Scrubs may be any color; free parking is available on site Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered for a travel position Interviews are conducted via SimpliFi; candidates should be prepared accordingly
