About the Role We're hiring a part-time Limited Permit X-Ray Technician (LPXT) to join our clinical team in Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe. You'll perform diagnostic imaging within your California limited permit scope — Chest, Extremities, Torso-Skeletal, and Leg/Podiatric — in support of our primary care, urgent care, and sports medicine providers. Our strongest candidates bring more than imaging. We're a tight-knit clinical team that thrives on cross-trained staff, so medical assistant experience is a significant plus. New graduates and recently licensed LPXTs are encouraged to apply if you bring MA skills to round out your X-ray training — we'll mentor you on the rest. What You'll DoX-Ray (primary responsibility, within limited permit scope) Perform diagnostic X-ray exams within your CDPH-RHB
Limited Permit categories: Chest, Extremities, Torso-Skeletal, and Leg/Podiatric Position patients accurately and produce high-quality images on the first attempt Follow strict radiation safety protocols (ALARA), including proper shielding and personal protection Explain procedures, answer questions, and help patients of all ages feel at ease Maintain imaging equipment, manage supplies, and keep imaging areas clean and compliant Defer studies outside your permit scope to our full-scope CRT or provider, per California regulations Medical Assistant support Room patients, take vital signs, and document chief complaints and medical history Assist providers during exams and procedures (splinting/casting, joint injections, laceration repair, etc.) Administer injections and prepare patients for treatments per provider orders Clean and stock exam and treatment rooms General Accurately document patient encounters in the EMR Support scheduling, intake, and light front-office tasks as needed Assist with basic lab or specimen handling as needed Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control standards What We're Looking ForRequired Active California Limited Permit X-Ray Technician (LPXT) license — covering Chest, Extremities, Torso-Skeletal, and Leg/Podiatric, OR willingness to add categories before start date Completion of an approved limited permit X-ray training program Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain before start date) Warm, patient-first demeanor and strong communication skills Comfortable working with patients of all ages and backgrounds Strongly Preferred Medical Assistant experience or MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) Experience in urgent care, primary care, or a multi-specialty outpatient setting Familiarity with EMR systems and patient management software Nice to Have Phlebotomy or lab experience (CPT-1 a plus) Bilingual (English/Spanish or other) Interest in integrative or whole-person care Why Join Us Cross-functional role with variety: imaging within your permit scope plus hands-on MA work Be part of a unique practice blending conventional, urgent, and integrative medicine Two beautiful San Diego locations: Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe Mission-driven team that treats patients like family Mentorship and support for newer LPXTs growing into a busy outpatient setting Predictable part-time schedule that supports work-life balance How to Apply Submit your resume through Indeed.
