Where You'll Work Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. It is one of only two Level II trauma centers, the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a 266-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and a robust robotic surgery program. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.
Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses. Performs all radiographic procedures with a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, positioning and technical factors to produce quality diagnostic images Assures that the proper examination is performed on the correct patient, and understands the clinical reason the exam is being performed Demonstrates professional demeanor and ability to triage multiple requests and asks for assistance when appropriate Coordinates work flow with medical center co-workers in a cooperative and collaborative manner Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety principles, Joint Commission requirements, and all applicable Federal, State and local regulations Gathers appropriate clinical information for each examination, assuring that safe care is delivered Job Requirements Required Graduate of a JCERT accredited school ofradiologic technology, upon hire and
