Job Title:
Radiographic Technologist (Mammography Technologist)
Location:
San Diego, CA 92134
Duration:
3 months to long term
Shifts:
M-F 6am - 8pm (8hr/10hr shift)
Job Description:
Perform routine diagnostic mammography and radiologic procedures in accordance with physician orders and MTF protocols. Position patients accurately for examinations and make technical adjustments necessary to obtain optimal diagnostic images. Assess patient needs and determine if special preparation is required prior to imaging procedures. Process and review digital mammography images for quality and submit image series to the radiologist for interpretation according to established protocols. Adhere to radiation safety standards and departmental policies to ensure the protection of patients, staff, and self. Document imaging procedures, patient information, and examination records accurately in accordance with MTF policies and regulatory requirements. Perform equipment calibrations, quality control testing, and routine system checks as directed by manufacturer recommendations and MTF policies. Identify image artifacts, equipment malfunctions, and abnormal quality control results, reporting findings to designated Government personnel. Initiate equipment repair requests, coordinate with the Biomedical Repair Section, and document equipment issues in the appropriate maintenance log. Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and promptly report any adverse reactions to contrast media or significant changes in patient condition to the radiologist. Recognize emergency situations, initiate appropriate life-saving measures, including basic resuscitation procedures, and respond according to established emergency protocols. Maintain professional standards of patient care, confidentiality, and ethical conduct at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Graduate of an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography or the specialty identified in the Task Order (TO). Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the past two (2) years as a Radiologic Technologist or in the mammography specialty area identified in the TO. About our
