Job Description

Job Summary The Radiologic Technologist (C-Arm Specialist) is responsible for the safe and effective operation of fluoroscopic (C-arm) imaging equipment to support physicians during surgical and interventional procedures in a fast-paced, multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center (ASC). This role focuses on intraoperative imaging and requires strong collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes, radiation safety, and workflow efficiency. Duties Operate C-arm fluoroscopy equipment during surgical procedures across multiple specialties (e.g., orthopedics, pain management, GI, podiatry, urology, etc.) Collaborate with physicians to obtain high-quality diagnostic images in real time Anticipate surgeon needs and adjust imaging techniques accordingly Maintain sterile technique and operate within the sterile field when required Ensure proper patient positioning, alignment, and image optimization Adhere to all radiation safety standards (ALARA principles) for patients and staff Utilize appropriate shielding and monitor radiation exposure Perform equipment checks, troubleshooting, and coordinate maintenance as needed Document imaging procedures in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements Assist with room turnover and maintain efficient case flow Support a team-oriented environment in a high-volume ASC setting Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program Current ARRT certification (R) required Current California Radiologic Technologist license (CRT) required Fluoroscopy permit (California) required BLS certification required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong proficiency in C-arm operation and image optimization Thorough understanding of radiation safety practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt quickly to different surgeons and case types Strong attention to detail and patient safety Experience Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating C-arm in a surgical setting preferred Experience in ASC or outpatient surgery setting strongly preferred Multi-specialty experience (orthopedic, pain/spine, GI, etc.) highly desirable Work Environment & Schedule Part-time position based on surgical volume and staffing needs Scheduled shifts with potential variability depending on case load May require flexibility with start times and occasional extended hours Fast-paced ambulatory surgery center with high case turnover
Pay:
$33.00 - $46.00 per hour
