ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced, California-certified X-Ray Technology Supervisor to lead our imaging department within a fast-paced urgent care setting. In this role, you will combine hands-on radiographic expertise with team leadership, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance — ensuring every patient receives safe, accurate, and timely imaging services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Operations Supervise, schedule, and evaluate all radiologic technologists and imaging support staff Coordinate daily workflow to optimize patient throughput and minimize wait times Maintain adequate staffing levels, including on-call and float coverage Imaging & Patient Care Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures including digital X-rays, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging Ensure proper positioning, technique selection, and radiation protection for every patient Collaborate with providers to prioritize STAT and urgent imaging requests Compliance, Safety & Quality Maintain compliance with CDPH Title 17 regulations and current RHB facility registration Oversee radiation safety programs including dosimetry, shielding surveys, and ALARA principles Manage equipment QC logs, preventive maintenance, and accurate
EMR/PACS
documentation Training & Development Onboard and train new radiology staff with competency validation Keep the team current on emerging technologies, best practices, and regulatory updates Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and protocol manuals
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current, valid California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license issued by the California Department of Public Health ARRT certification (R) in Radiography — active and in good standing Minimum 3-5 years of clinical radiologic technology experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role Strong working knowledge of digital radiography, and PACS Thorough understanding of Title 17 (California) and applicable federal radiation safety regulations Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in an urgent care, emergency, or high-volume outpatient imaging setting Additional ARRT certifications (CT, Fluoroscopy, Mammography) are a plus Familiarity with value-based care models and imaging utilization management Experience with accreditation processes (e.g., Joint Commission, AAAHC)
