Control number 862737400 This job is open to Help The public U.S. Citizens, Nionals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Help Review radiographic Computed Tomography (CT) requests to ensure it is the correct study, ensure each image meets standard, send images to radiologists, and ensure exam is complete. Instruct, monitor, and observe other technologists in all aspects of the radiographic exam, pient care and handling. Troubleshoot and assure CT imaging equipment is functioning properly. Provide direct teaching and guidance for student and staff technologists in Diagnostic Radiology. Monitor the function of digital and analog processors. Demonstre proficiency with all diagnostic modalities of the Diagnostic Radiology Service, Department of Radiology to include Opering Room (OR), Portables, Urology (GU), and Orthopedic X-Ray. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determinion, as determined by a completed background investigion. A Personnel Security Investigion is required. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificion th is sponsored by the American Red Cross. This position requires the incumbent to have a current American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) License in CT and be registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. This position has a mandory seasonal influenza vaccinion requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinions. This position is subject to screening and upde of required immunizions/vaccinions (hepitis, influenza etc.) unless exempted for medical or administrive reasons in accordance with Army Regulion 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4. Required to wear Personnel Protective Equipment. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examinion. Modere to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required. This position may be required to work uncommon tours of duty hours as on-call, working either fixed or roting shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. This position has been designed "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weher conditions or other such emergency type situions the incumbent is required to report to work or remain work as scheduled to support mission operions. This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain CT ARRT License and registrion throughout their employment.

Radiology Certificion :
Public Law 97-35 requires th persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. Essentially, they must (1) have successfully completed an educional program th meets or exceeds the standards described in th regulion, and is accredited by an organizion recognized by the Department of Educion, and (2) be certified as radiographers in their field.
The following meet these requirements:
(1) Persons employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel prior to the effective de of the regulion (January 13, 1986) who show evidence of current or fully sisfactory performance or certificion of such from a licensed practitioner such as a doctor of medicine, osteophy, dentistry, podiry, or chiropractic who prescribes radiologic procedures to others. (2) Persons first employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel after the effective de of the regulion who (a) received training from institutions in a Ste or foreign jurisdiction th did not accredit training in th particular field the time of graduion, or (b) practiced in a Ste or foreign jurisdiction th did not license th particular field or did not allow special eligibility to take a licensure examinion for those who did not gradue from an accredited educional program, provided th such persons show evidence of training, experience, and competence as determined by OPM or the employing agency. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualificion requirements listed below: Specialized experience : One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing radiographic requests; evaluing the efficiency and effectiveness of imaging protocols; recommending improvements to established protocols; performing quality control duties to ensure th high diagnostic quality X-Rays are being produced; and answering questions from colleagues on procedures, policies, directives, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR Educion:
One and a half years of gradue level educion in a field directly reled to the work of the position, such as Diagnostic Radiology/Radiography. (

OR Combinion of Educion and Experience:
A combinion of educion and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed gradue semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Licensure:
This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain Computed Tomography (CT) licensure through American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) throughout their employment. Educion
