37.07 - 57.47HOURLY General Summary:
Under the direction of the Freestanding Emergency Manager and Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Management team serves as a lead and resource person for problem solving related to the daily activities for the Freestanding ED CT/X-ray modalities. Primary duties in CT /X-ray include orienting new team members to the Freestanding ED, communication, daily quality control. Ensuring quality standards are met and compliance with departmental policies and regulations. Operates CT / X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of anatomy requested by the referring physician.Responsibilities:
1.Performing Procedures:
Utilization of job-related information, technical skills and procedures, including continuous quality improvement. Perform exams in accordance with standard procedures and protocols. Utilize appropriate patient safety screening/consent forms to ensure all safety precautions have been addressed prior to procedure. Properly position patients with Bayhealth approved immobilization equipment, as necessary. 2. Personnel /Staffing:
Leads assigned team members during daily operations. Provide adequate staffing for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to handle the workload for the appropriate shift /time. Post team members work schedules one week prior to the scheduled work assignment. Understand payroll practices, loads work schedules into the payroll system for assigned team members to ensure that each team member is paid according to the correct number of hours worked per pay period 3. Assist the Freestanding ED site manager with annual performance evaluations. Ensure technologists have access to the policies and are knowledgeable of all policies and procedures that are pertinent to their job duties. May make referrals for formal corrective actions to the Site manager and/or DI management relevant to performance, attendance, and quality. Quality issues are reported by monthly QAs from the radiologists, PACS and management. Once QAs are reviewed by technologists, the site lead will follow up with necessary education and if needed to escalate to DI Management. 4.New Hires:
Participates as a peer for CT /X-ray applicants interviews and documents recommendations for hire. Ensures all on boarding education is completed before new team members are assigned to work with patients. For new hires that are not CT trained, the CT supervisor at the hospital will be responsible for the training/documentation and assignments during the training period. 5.Equipment:
Monitors all equipment to ensure equipment is in working condition by reviewing QC reports. Report problems to Clinical Engineering to ensure that equipment is repaired and operational for scheduled and emergent cases. Inform DI and ED management of reported problems. Ensure that the results of the area equipment QA Logs and daily JC checks are accurately recorded daily, meeting any State or Federal guidelines. Assist the CT Supervisor with the daily, monthly and quarterly QC for the ACR accreditation requirements for the sites CT scanner. 6. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities. Required Education, Credential(s) andExperience:
Education:
Associate Degree Radiologic Technology Or Certificate Program Radiologic Technologist. Credential(s): Registered Technologist, Radiography; CT Tech Competency Based Orientation; Basic Life Support; Medical Radiologic Technologist; If RT (CT) is held, CT CBO is not required.Experience:
