Apply Now UPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to join their team of life-changers! This position will work varying shifts including some evenings and weekends. As a Diagnostic Technologist, you'll perform imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. UPMC is excited to offer a generous sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 with a 2-year commitment.
Responsibilities:
Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures. Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols. Document patient history in electronic records as needed. Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy. Ensure exams are coded, tracked, networked to ISITE, and charges entered. Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols. Use complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, and documentation. Interact with patients and co-workers with care, respect, and teamwork. Perform technical procedures with independent judgment and appropriate radiation use. Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to ease their fears. Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
