Position Summary Position Summary
CT TECHNOLOGIST, LEAD
Directs daily workflow and assists the Imaging Services Supervisor, Imaging Services Manager, and/or Imaging Services Director. Responsibilities Essential Functions
  • Adheres and supports policies, procedures, mission statements, and strategic imperatives.
  • Directs and assists with daily workflow of the imaging team with regards to supply ordering, staff assignments, and resolution of customer service issues.
  • Plans and prioritizes procedure scheduling and processing that support the needs of the patients and physicians.
  • Assures images meet the established Quality Control standards.
  • Provides input to supervisor for evaluations.
  • Actively participates in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Utilizes Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Works with equipment project manager or manager in scheduling equipment downtime for scanners and reports any equipment problems promptly.
  • Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures as outlined in the CT technologist job description.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication injection with and without use of power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Applies principals of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
  • Ensures safety of patients.
  • Maintains reasonably regular punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines and education requirements. Other Related Functions
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of section.
  • Reports equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains supply inventory for section, ordering additional supplies.
  • Provides patient transport. Qualifications Education/Training.
  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or
  • Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Licensure/Certification
  • Maintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
  • Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria: o Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or o Valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT).
Experience Minimum of two (2) years as a licensed Certified Radiologic Technologist, six (6) months experience in CT is required and experience in two or more of the following areas:
  • Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging
  • Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training
  • Primary responsibility: Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality.
Qualifications:
Education/Training. Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
