Orthopedic MA / X-ray Tech Melbourne, FL Job Details Full-time From $22 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications BLS Certification HIPAA Medical administrative support Basic life support Clinical documentation Patient interaction Full Job Description Looking for an RT/ X-ray Tech to join our growing pediatric orthopedic practice. As a small and specialized practice, we value versatility—this role will include cross-training in areas such as Medical Assisting, Cast Tech duties, and Front Office support. If you're seeking a fun and energetic work environment, this is for you. Compensation will be determined by professional credentials and experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and perform radiologic procedures per physician orders. Ensure proper patient identification and obtain a complete clinical history. Position patients and adjust equipment for optimal imaging while ensuring patient comfort. Assess image quality, ensuring all necessary anatomy is properly demonstrated. Follow radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, self, and staff. Document and submit images to PACS with dose summaries and patient details. Provide compassionate and professional patient interactions, ensuring a positive experience. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions for timely resolution. Maintain an accurate log of exams performed, including radiation dose tracking. Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state regulations governing radiologic procedures and patient confidentiality regulations. Assist with office and other clinical duties, including patient check in, vitals, scheduling, documentation payment collection, and answering phones.
Education & Licensure:
Certified Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Basic Machine Operator (BMO) License ( by the State of Florida). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience:
Experience preferred but new graduates who have passed their exam(s) will be considered. Experience with orthopedics is a plus.
