POSITION SUMMARY
The Radiology Technologist II operates Diagnostic Imaging equipment to produce quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes following all Health First policies and procedures. The Radiology Technologist II serves as a clinical and technical expert resource to peers and physicians for the Hybrid Operating Room (OR).PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
Serves super user for Hybrid OR imaging equipment and active participant in room prep, to include guide wires, stents, sheaths, and anesthesia placement. Fosters Physician partnerships to include surgical preferences, special views and imaging protocols to ensure a seamless procedure. Maintains a safe environment with the operation of diagnostic imaging equipment for customer/patients, coworkers, and self by adhering to diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and guidelines. Performs a variety of procedures which may include general radiographic, portables, emergency room, trauma, operating room, mammography and fluoroscopic exams including invasive procedures. Properly screens patients for diagnostic imaging exam and effectively documents and communicates pertinent and required information pre and post procedure performance. Positions patients for diagnostic imaging exam using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with department safety procedures and protocols. Produces images consistent with image quality standards and evaluate diagnostic imaging exams for technical quality. Identifies, prepares and administer medications properly that are within the Radiology Technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Monitors patients during exams, observing any adverse reactions or complications, and taking appropriate actions when necessary. Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume. Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) always using excellent customer relation skills. Follows all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to The Joint Commission (TJC) and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards and provides orientation and education for new technologists and students. Education:
Joint Review Committee (JRC) approved Radiologic Technology program or school.Work Experience:
None Licensure:
General Radiographer licensure in the State of Florida.Certification:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R). American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to report to department within 30 minutes when on call. Call requirement is a minimum of one week per month to include weekends and holidays. Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment and able to respond to life threatening situations. Demonstrate effective time management, critical thinking skills, and coordinate scheduling and patient flow.PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Prior diagnostic imaging experience.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching majority of the shift. Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or without assistance. May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or overhead. May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, dirt, grease, or water. May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of materials. May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined.
