Job Description:
Work Schedule:

  • 11:30pm.
One call week required every 10 weeks. Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety. Reviews patient history and screens all patients for MRI safety compliance, including contraindications such as implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, and contrast allergies. Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions to promote comfort and cooperation. Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
  • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required]
  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]
  • Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required]
  • Excellent customer service skills [Required]
  • Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all patients and hospital personnel [Required]
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical personnel that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the organization [Required]
Education:
  • Associate [Preferred]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study:
    N/A Work Experience:
    • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
