Job Description
St. Bernard Hospital is seeking a dependable and patient focused Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, professionalism, and a commitment to providing compassionate patient care in a fast paced healthcare environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols Prepare and position patients appropriately to obtain quality diagnostic images Explain imaging procedures to patients and address questions or concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining image quality standards Review images for completeness and quality prior to submission to the radiologist Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record system Follow radiation safety practices and infection prevention guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety Assist patients onto examination tables from wheelchairs, stretchers, or carts as needed Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and equipment Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities Qualifications Graduate from an AMA-approved accredited school. BLS certification. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART)(R) certificate. Illinois Emergency Department of Management Agency (IEMA) license. A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
