  • Associates degree in Radiology Licenses and Certification
  • ARRT RT(R)(MR) Must be MRI certified within 1 year of hire

1 year CT experience Role Specific Responsibilities Prepares and explains exams to patients Maintains an expertise in anatomy, physiology and pathology relative to imaging in order to optimize the procedure and ensure patient care/safety. Performs imaging procedures based on assessment of the status of the patient, request of the service, and imaging protocols. Monitored by periodic Image Evaluations and Supervision. Performs all exams that pertain to specialty area Ensures MRI Safety precautions to patients, families, co-workers and any other individuals that may encounter MRI zone 3 and 4. Maintains current knowledge of procedures in specialty areas in order to perform assigned duties Assesses patient's needs and provides imaging related to comfort, hygiene and range of motion and provides support accordingly. Prepares contrast agents, which are utilized for the MRI procedure according to procedural guidelines and protocols. Educates patients regarding MRI procedures and contrast media by explaining the procedure and answering questions accordingly. Promotes the team approach to providing positive imaging services by appropriately interacting with the technical, support, nursing, and medical staff. Process exams and make available on PACS Participates in the education/oversight of orientees, ancillary staff and students in collaboration with manager and/or designated education coordinator. Displays imaging techniques, patient care and guest relation behaviors in accordance with the ARRT Code of Ethics, SIH Policies and Procedures, Radiology Department Policies and Procedures, State and Federal Regulations, and The Joint Commission guidelines. Reports equipment failures to Biomed and management immediately upon identification and notifies proper individuals that service is needed. Completes all in-services and competencies by the required date and applies knowledge gained. Completes all necessary QA in accordance with the American College of Radiology. Possesses basic computer knowledge in order to document effectively.
