Full Job Description Travel Mammography Technologist Location:
Illinois — Springfield, Champaign-Urbana, and Chicago Metro.
Assignment Length:
13-week W2 travel contract.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, full time day shift; no weekends or on-call.
Start Date:
Anticipated July 2026.
Pay Range:
$65/hour. W2.
Travel Support :
Paid lodging, daily per diem for eligible travel days, and mileage reimbursement for approved site-to-site travel. About the
Role:
A temporary employee wellness program serving a professional workforce in Illinois is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a 13-week mobile screening assignment. The ideal candidate is independent, patient-focused, and experienced in delivering high-quality mammography services in a mobile setting. Candidates must already be fully credentialed and MQSA-qualified to independently perform mammography exams before starting this assignment.
Responsibilities:
Perform 3D screening mammograms in accordance with MQSA standards, Illinois requirements, facility protocols, and radiation safety standards. Complete daily mammography quality control. Review images for technical quality and positioning before submission. Transmit studies securely and maintain accurate documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical workspace. Provide a professional, patient-centered experience. Support onsite screening workflow, including patient check-in, documentation, schedule flow, and daily operational communication. This role does not include diagnosis, image interpretation, prescribing, determining medical necessity, or directing physician/radiologist clinical judgment.
Requirements:
Active ARRT RT(R)(M) certification. Active Illinois
IEMA-OHS
Medical Radiation Technology accreditation by onboarding date. Current BLS certification. Minimum 3 years of screening mammography experience. Documented 3D/tomosynthesis experience. Ability to work independently in a mobile setting. Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfortable supporting patient-facing coordination duties as needed. Clean background check and current drug screen. Ability to provide required MQSA documentation before start date. This site is not able to train, qualify, or document candidates into mammography eligibility. Candidates must be fully qualified before beginning the assignment. MQSA Documentation Required Candidates must provide documentation of: At least 200 mammograms performed in the prior 24 months. At least 15 mammography CEUs in the prior 36 months. At least 8 hours of initial Digital Breast Tomosynthesis training. Preferred Experience Mobile mammography experience. Hologic 3D/tomosynthesis experience. Weeks 1-7: Springfield, IL Weeks 8-11: Springfield / Sangamon County Week 12: Champaign-Urbana Week 13: Chicago Metro / Cook County Travel and Compensation Pay rate is $65/hour on a W2 basis. Lodging is provided for eligible travel weeks. Daily per diem is provided for eligible travel days. Mileage is reimbursed for approved site-to-site travel. Bonus potential may be available based on assignment terms and is subject to quality, safety, documentation, compliance, and patient-care standards. This temporary contract role does not include traditional employee benefits, except as required by applicable law.
