may vary locations Posted 04/09/2026 Req # 7562 Sign On Bonus Referral Bonus Job Summary This position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. Follows established protocols as well as being able to make adjustments to set parameters on the operating console to compensate for different patient conditions all while keeping radiation exposure to the patient at a minimum and still producing high quality diagnostic images. Documents important patient history as related to the procedure. Accurately prepares the exam room and tray set up for invasive procedures. Proficient at starting IV's to inject contrast media via an automatic injector. Communicates well with other staff, creating an atmosphere of teamwork, as well as physician offices to ensure accuracy in order information contributing to the efficient operation of the department. Participates in accreditation and quality initiatives and other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program in a JCERT approved school which meets the requirements of the ARRT registry for Radiology [ARRT]. Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification and State of Radiologic Technologists License or Registry eligible with State of Indiana Student Technologist license with attainment of technologist license within six months of employment. ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography or Registry completion within two years of employment in Computed Tomography. ARRT (CT) is required. BLS certification or must obtain at Orientation and prior to reporting to department. Preferred Job Requirements Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, Hospital Administrators, providers, consultants, business associates and regulatory agencies presenting a professional image as a representative of Marion General Hospital. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress. Developed computer skills and the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function. Excellent customer service skills with special emphasis on patient centered care. Analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties. Working Conditions Typical hospital clinical environment with frequent standing and walking. Work may be subject to interruptions. Risk of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious, electrical and radiation hazards. Works with protected health information. Ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays and/or weekends based on the needs of the department. Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling to provide patient care and to utilize patient care devices necessary to perform duties in a safe manner. Uses computer and other standard office equipment. Uses patient care tools and equipment as they relate to area of clinical specialty.
