The Registered Mammography Tech is responsible for providing highâ€'quality mammography imaging and ensuring a safe, supportive experience for every patient served in the Clara Fairbanks Women's Center. This role reports to the Manager of the Clara Fairbanks Women's Center. Essential & valuable skills gained (in this unit or in this department):
  • Develop advanced mammography skills, including accurate positioning, compression techniques, and operation of modern digital imaging equipment
  • Strengthen patient-focused communication through daily interaction, education, and support during imaging procedures
  • Build deep knowledge of breast anatomy, imaging quality standards, safety practices, and efficient workflow management in a high-volume clinical setting (Unit / Dept.) Successes and Designation
  • The Clara Fairbanks Women's Center is recognized for excellence in women's imaging and patient experience
  • The department maintains accreditation through the American College of Radiology (ACR) since 1996 (Unit / Dept.) Training & Onboarding Culture

  • Regular check-ins and access to updated resources to build confidence and ensure successful independent practice
Essential Job Duties:
  • Skilled in performing screening, diagnostic, and advanced mammography procedures, including breast ultrasound, stereotactic/ultrasound-guided biopsies, needle localizations, clip placements, aspirations, and drainages.
  • Proficient in operating mammography, biopsy, DEXA, and
PACS/EMR
systems, including proper equipment setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting/reporting malfunctions.
  • Experienced in conducting MQSA/ACR-mandated quality control testing (daily, weekly, monthly) and maintaining all compliance and regulatory documentation.
  • Competent in applying radiation safety principles and proper patient positioning, immobilization, and compression techniques to achieve optimal imaging quality.
  • Capable of preparing biopsy supplies using aseptic technique and managing mammography tracking, reporting, and data submission requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Minimum of 3 years of mammography experience
  • Ability to meet and compassionately interact with a wide variety of people
  • Flexibility in work schedule to meet departmental needs Licenses /
Certifications:
  • ARRT Registered
  • Advanced ARRT Mammography Certification (must obtain within 1 year of hire and maintain thereafter)
