Kansas City , KS Pay rate: $70-$75/hr Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Interventional Radiology Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting minimally invasive procedures that improve patient outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment, utilizing your expertise in medical imaging and radiologic techniques. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to deliver precise imaging services that guide life-saving interventions. Your skills will directly contribute to diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and patient care in a state-of-the-art facility committed to excellence and innovation. Duties Prepare patients for interventional procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and verifying medical histories. Operate advanced imaging equipment including X-ray, CT (Computed Tomography), PET scan (Positron Emission Tomography), mammography, DEXA scan (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry), and ultrasound systems such as sonography. Assist radiologists during procedures by positioning patients accurately and maintaining sterile aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, ensuring safety and stability. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, imaging results, and patient information in compliance with hospital policies and medical standards. Support diagnostic radiology efforts by performing diagnostic evaluations using various imaging modalities and interpreting anatomy knowledge for accurate imaging. Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operated according to safety standards; troubleshoot technical issues promptly. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all interventions to uphold patient safety. Collaborate with emergency room staff and participate in urgent care situations or Level I trauma center responses requiring rapid imaging support. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and radiologic procedures through ongoing education. Skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles. Proficiency in operating diverse imaging modalities including X-ray, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, ultrasound (sonography), nuclear medicine techniques, and DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography). Experience working in urgent care settings or Level II trauma centers with a strong understanding of emergency medicine protocols. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes and the ability to interpret complex imaging results accurately. Strong understanding of aseptic technique practices essential for invasive procedures involving vascular access or biopsies. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in high-stakes environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or emergency rooms. Knowledge of medical imaging safety standards and radiation protection guidelines. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
