1 Description American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with 3+ years of experience and current ARRT (CT) certification for a night shift contract position in Lexington, KY. Details CT Scan department in an acute care hospital setting Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM 36 hours per week Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required Requirements Minimum of 3 years of CT Technologist experience 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience required Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program, or military training graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program as validated by active ARRT certification Current ARRT certification in Radiography RT(R) Current ARRT (CT) certification Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (license required if applicable) Current BLS certification Must maintain continuing education hours as required by licensing agency Strong eye-hand coordination and attention to detail Candidate must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration Additional Information Performs CT procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners Exercises professional judgment in service performance and maintains standards consistent with medical ethics Recognizes patient conditions and adapts care to ensure successful exam completion, including monitoring patients continuously throughout procedures Performs and documents peripheral venipuncture when required for exams Verifies orders and patient identity, and documents all incidents and relevant care in the electronic health record Performs post-processing of exams per department protocol and applies ALARA principles for radiation safety Adjusts exam protocols for pediatric patients in accordance with ACR Image Gently guidelines Assists the Radiologist and CT Coordinator with establishing and refining protocols Participates in image Peer Review, QC/warm-up procedures, and ACR accreditation activities as needed Provides supervision and instruction to imaging students on clinical rotation Verifies images are archived to PACS and sends images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed Manages supply inventory and reports equipment malfunctions or environmental safety concerns to appropriate personnel
