GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
: We are seeking a dependable, patient-focused Radiology Tech to join our Interventional Pain Management team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting while helping patients improve their quality of life through advanced pain management procedures. Monday-Friday schedule. No nights, weekends, or hospital call requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:
  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Acquires, reviews, and archives digital radiographic images using PACS and EMR systems.
  • Maintains compliance with all radiation safety policies and regulations to protect patients and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of accredited x-ray technician program.
  • Previous radiology, fluoroscopy, surgery, orthopedic, or pain management experience preferred.
  • Current Louisiana State Radiology Technician License; current CPR certification; American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
  • Knowledge of x-ray procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Skills:
  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal imaging while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Identify equipment problems and correct or notify supervisor.
  • Apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
  • Communicate clearly.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients and families.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with positioning and transfers.
  • Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds.
