Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Performs diagnostic imaging and other medical examinations in support of the Rural Health and Specialty Clinics, Emergency, Surgical, Med/Surg and Ambulatory Care Departments. Duties may include, but are not limited to, general x-ray, portable x-rays, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, mammography, DEXA, EKGs, and Holter monitors. Follows established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs diagnostic imaging and other medical examinations that may include, but are not limited to, general x-ray, portable x-rays, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, mammography, DEXA, EKGs, and Holter monitors. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members. Demonstrates ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physicians' orders. Performs accurate and timely administrative duties concerning PACS, RIS and EMR. Assists in processing scheduled and unscheduled appointments. Contributes to the efficient operation of the department. Participates in the orientation and training of new employees and health care professionals and of radiologic technology students. Demonstrates appropriateness in meeting objectives in age-specifics. Performs other duties as assigned. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Flexibility to work overtime as needed, as well as Holiday and on-call duty. Displays a good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatrics and geriatrics. Knowledge of radiographic examinations, positioning techniques, as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents. Demonstrates knowledge of radiologic equipment, its operation, technique adjusting, post image processing and radiation safety. Open, accurate, and responsive communication, oral or written, on an individual basis or in groups. Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines. Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct. BLS Certified
