PRN Radiologic Technologist SUMMARY:
Operates specialized radiologic equipment (Fluoroscopy) to obtain clinical diagnostic images as directed by providers in a surgery setting. Works with patient and clinic staff to ensure proper patient care. JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 1. Works directly with providers to perform specialized imaging procedures. Instructs patients regarding imaging procedures. Selects technical exposure factors by adjusting equipment on an individual patient basis. 2. Examines images for properties such as density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion. Performs quality assurance requirements and records data. 3. Utilizes the electronic medical record 4. Maintains files and performs other work as required (per site) and related clerical duties. 5. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies. 6. Ensures that images meet quality standards. Performs quality assurance requirements and records data. 7. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to positively impact the experience and care for our patients, external customers, and internal service partners. 8. Maintains educational status regarding safety, fire, blood, and body substances as required by the, and continuing education as required by ARRT certification. 9. Performs related work as required. 10. Considers age related factors in care, treatment, education, and evaluation of patients, ranging from neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures. 11. Supports the policies and procedures of Inspired Spine Health as required for full accreditation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Maintains educational status regarding safety, fire, blood, and body substances as required by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and continuing education as required by ARRT Certification. 2. General knowledge clinic operations and day-to-day detailed operations of Inspired Spine Health. 3. Ability to work with physicians and providers in relation to staff, clinic, or scheduling concerns. Serve as a liaison as needed between providers, staff, and outside contacts. 4. Represent Inspired Spine Health in a professional manner related to appearance, communication and the maintenance of patient and company confidentiality. 5. Ability to effectively communicate and work efficiently with direct supervisor, administration, physicians, patients, and staff. 6. Ability to analyze work methods to effectively organize work, make improvements and correct problems. 7. Supportive of the goals and objectives of Inspired Spine Health 8. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related duties requested by their supervisor EDUCATION/TRAINING/LICENSURE
1. Graduate ARRT approved program and ARRT registered. 2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area for radiography. 3. Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing. 4. Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement. 5. Skilled in properly positioning patients to provide quality. 6. Must have basic knowledge of standard computer software. 7. Experience with universal PPE and/or with biological/hazardous materials preferred. 8. Possess organizational and time management skills TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee frequently is required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Continuous talking and hearing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to reach in front and above head 15 inches. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Places patients in appropriate positions for operation of equipment. May assist with lifting patients onto the examination table. Frequent keyboarding. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
