Job Description

Under general supervision of the Director of Radiology, uses the radiographical process to safely operate various types of radiographic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of anatomical body sections for diagnostic purposes as directed by the radiologist and department policy and procedures. At all times, work assignments will be determined by adjustment of patient census and the scheduled procedures for the department of radiology. As determined by the director of radiology, the student radiology technologist will be assigned up to eighty (80) hours per pay period. This may include rotating shifts and rotating weekends as determined by the departmental needs. The student radiologic technologist is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization. Must be able to work and relate in a professional, nondefensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into computer system. Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is nonnegotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
