Job Description

Job Description Title:
Radiology Tech/Reg Job Summary Performs radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of the Radiologist. Coordinates daily activities to include performing examinations and associated clerical duties. Essential Functions " Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. " Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician. " Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity. " Prepares and administers contrast media as required. " Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary. " Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills. " Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards. Physical Requirements Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Handles equipment and monitoring supplies. Must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff. May be required to frequently stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in operating radiographic equipment. Must be able to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment and in the case of injured and diseased patients. Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary. May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment. Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity. Education, Experience and Certifications Requires successful completion of a formal Radiology Tech Program in an AMA approved facility, ARRT registration, and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA. If a new graduate, must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date. Patient Population Served Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served. Protected Health Information " Will limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job. " Will share information only on a need-to-know basis for work purposes. " Access to verbal, written and electronic PHI for this job has been determined based on job level and job responsibility within the organization. Computerized access to PHI for this job has been determined as described above and is controlled via user ID and password. Radiology Tech About Facility:
o 225 Baldwin, Ave. Charlotte, NC 28204 o Neurosurgery and Neurology office
General Information:

Rooms:
Large clinic with several rooms, 1 x-ray room, 1 injection room Census? Average patients/day? Average 60 imaging patients (around 30 of these will be injections) o Minimum Years of Experience? 2 years o Will you accept a first-time traveler?
Yes Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Mostly spine/head scoliosis series, shunt series (can teach if needed), neck, C, T, and L spines. o Outpatient imaging and injections. No sedation o Will see adults and pediatric patients
Required Licensure & Certifications:

ARRT, BLS
Skills required: o Experience with above patient types o Need to be open to other office/admin tasks making CDs, etc. o Need to be experienced with c-arm o Comfortable working in fast-paced environment Support within the

o RN o CNA o Typically, 3 Techs for imaging o Front desk staff o 1 provider in the injection suite, 10-12 providers at a time at the clinic

Client OEC Floating:
If yes, where and how often? Travelers float first? o Could float to some of the other CSA Campuses. Could see RFAs at other campuses, but can be taught there o Floating will be very rare. If candidate is not comfortable floating, management is typically able to have staff members float Orientation (facility and unit) : o About 1 week of orientation
