Job Description

Radiology Technician Reports to:
Clinic Manager Job Summary:
This position will perform diagnostic studies on patients, providing maximum amount of clinical information with minimal radiation exposure. Operate C-arm fluoroscope as needed during procedures. Liaise with teleradiology to ensure accurate transmission of images; receive reports and upload to charts for timely billing. As a patient services representative, ensure that patient orders, demographics, insurance information is accurate, and build relationships with employees and patients in facilities while focusing on excellent patient care.
Radiology Technician Duties:
Obtain quality radiographs of patients as ordered by physicians and providers; analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results, and take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Perform patient x-ray exams by following the principles of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA). Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Prepare examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Escort patients to and from the x-ray examination room. Facilitate the department's cleanliness and monitor inventory supplies during room rotation in conformance with OSHA guidelines. Properly record patient information and maintain EHR by uploading reports, importing images from outside facilities, etc. Assist physicians during procedures by administering medications, contrast agents, and all types of care to the patient.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Completion of at least a 2-year accredited Radiologic Technologist Program. At least 1 year X-ray experience, preferred. Must have knowledge of required software including EMR, PACS, and Microsoft Office. Must have the ability to work independently. Must have strong communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have a service-oriented personality - great customer service skills required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (ARRT) registration or registry eligible. American Heart Association's Certification - BLS Certified.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds. Ability to see colors, see at least 1 mm squares. Ability to reach overhead. Ability to remain calm, continue to function effectively and maintain priorities during highly stressful situations. Potential exposure to patients or other individuals who may be physically or verbally abusive. Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal media. Ability to move and operate equipment and carry supplies. Work responsibilities may involve access to medication storage areas to perform core job functions, deliver non-narcotic medications or restock supplies.
