Novant Health Pinnacle Orthopedics Salisbury is seeking a Radiology Technologist The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing high quality diagnostic imaging procedures in an ambulatory care setting. This role involves independently operating radiographic equipment, assisting physicians during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and ensuring patients are properly prepared and supported throughout the imaging process. The technologist must demonstrate thorough knowledge of radiographic equipment, accessories, and imaging techniques, along with strong analytical abilities and basic computer proficiency. This position requires the ability to adapt care and communication to meet the age specific needs of each patient, interpreting information to determine appropriate approaches for individuals across the lifespan. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in diagnostic rooms are essential. The technologist must be capable of adapting to a variety of procedures, equipment types, and clinical situations while maintaining patient safety and producing high quality diagnostic images. What We're Looking For:
Education :
High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program. Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
ARRT, required. Additional Skills (required): Thorough knowledge of radiographic equipment and accessories. Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills, capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms, working knowledge of various types of x-ray equipment, able to adapt to various situations and procedures.
What You'll Do:
Patient Care:
Performs direct patient care. Collects data to determine correct procedure /protocol to be followed. Performs screening processes for medication reconciliation and allergy confirmation. Reviews orders for clarity and verifies as needed. Performs and assists the physicians in performing radiology procedures.
Clerical Duties:
Knowledgeable with electronic information systems and PACs systems. Interprets and records patient information as necessary. Utilizes Novant telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
Competency:
Maintains professional competencies and complies with needed education requirements as dictated by their credentialing body. Maintains clinical competencies based on departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Works with radiologist to develop and maintain standard protocols for routine procedures.
Patient Positioning:
Moves patient from a wheelchair or a stretcher to the imaging table and positions the patient for best imaging results. Moving the patient may require using aides such as lift equipment or a smoothie board. In some cases, a minimum of two people is required to insure safety of the patient as well as the employees. Depending on the case load, this may occur 10 to 20 times a day.
Safety:
Follows established radiation safety guidelines. Follow established policies and procedures to prevent spread of infectious disease. Follows First Do No Harm culture.
