Category Imaging - IR Tech Job Type Travel A specialized opportunity is available for an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of two years' experience in IR Body or IR Neuro, preferably at a Level 1 Trauma Center. This contract position is located in Thomasville, NC, supporting a high-acuity academic medical center known for its trauma, stroke, and cancer care programs.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 2 years specific experience in Interventional Radiology (IR Body/IR Neuro) at a Level 1 Trauma Center National certification as ARRT-R or RCIS required, with current BLS certification Proven skills in scrubbing and assisting during IR procedures, circulating within the room by operating equipment and providing supplies Comfortable working alongside new graduates and supporting preceptorship Experience with comprehensive stroke, cancer, tumor, and trauma-related IR procedures advantageous
Location Details:
Situated near Winston-Salem, NC, this medical center features 885 licensed beds and is a Level 1 Trauma Designation facility. It is an academic medical center with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designation, performing 45-50 interventional radiology cases daily across eight specialized IR rooms. The local area offers a blend of community charm and city access, providing a welcoming environment for professionals relocating or traveling for assignments.
Responsibilities:
Perform and assist with a wide range of interventional radiology procedures, including embolizations, thrombectomies, biopsies, and vascular interventions Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including neuro-radiologists, neurosurgeons, and body interventionalists Utilize advanced imaging equipment such as Siemens, GE, Philips systems, and maintain proficiency with Epic Encompass EMR Participate in on-call rotations and weekend duty as scheduled to support 24/7 patient care needs Support department operations including room turnover, documentation, and equipment management, aided by dedicated tech extenders
Schedule and Call:
Various shift options: three 12-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts (8:00 am-6:30 pm), or five 8-hour shifts (8:00 am-4:30 pm) On-call 3-4 days per month; weekend call scheduled approximately every 5th-6th weekend covering Friday evening through Monday morning Holiday coverage required for about 75% of assigned holidays Schedule cycles refresh every 4-6 weeks with manager approval required for time off requests
