Radiologic Technologist Job Description This Radiologic Technologist role focuses on delivering high-quality imaging services in an outpatient setting that includes orthopedics, podiatry, physical therapy, and urgent care cases. You will use modern imaging and scheduling systems, provide compassionate patient care, and support physicians by accurately performing ordered imaging procedures and maintaining thorough documentation. Responsibilities Update and maintain accurate patient information in the Athena electronic medical record (EMR) system. Support outpatient, orthopedic, podiatry, physical therapy, and urgent care imaging cases by performing appropriate radiologic procedures. Use the Care Flow scheduling system to manage and coordinate patient appointments and imaging schedules. Provide excellent bedside care, clearly explain procedures, and ensure patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their visit. Clarify and follow physicians' orders for imaging studies and ensure all required documentation and images are accurately scanned into the PACS system. Maintain exam room cleanliness and organization after each exam and procedure, following facility protocols. Obtain and review patient information and chart notes for fluoroscopy procedures to ensure accurate and safe imaging. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of and compliance with safety standards, including OSHA and HIPAA regulations. Perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual quality control checks on imaging equipment as required. Collaborate closely with physicians and other clinical staff to support efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. Manage a high daily patient volume while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and a calm, patient-focused demeanor. Assist with basic medical assisting tasks as needed to support patient flow and clinic operations. Essential Skills Current ARRT certification in radiography. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proficiency in radiology imaging procedures in an outpatient clinical environment. Ability to provide compassionate bedside care and communicate clearly with patients about procedures. Ability to manage a high patient volume while maintaining quality and attention to detail. Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Athena, or similar platforms. Understanding of and adherence to OSHA and HIPAA regulations and general safety standards. Ability to perform routine quality control on imaging equipment on a daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Athena EMR or other EMR systems is a plus. Experience with fluoroscopy procedures is a plus. Willingness to cross-train in CT and other imaging modalities to support career growth. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary clinical team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support patient education and physician interaction. Desire for long-term professional development and internal advancement within a growing clinical organization. Work Environment This role is based in a modern outpatient facility with brand new imaging equipment and a newly opened site location. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with optional weekend shifts available for additional hours. You will work alongside approximately three other technologists in an urgent care center setting that also supports orthopedics, podiatry, and physical therapy services. The environment is collaborative and physician-supported, with a strong culture of teamwork and internal advancement. Clinical staff use systems such as Athena EMR, Care Flow for scheduling, and PACS for imaging management. The facility emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care, with an expectation of professional clinical attire appropriate for a medical imaging setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Florham Park, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $41.00/hr.
