POSITION SUMMARY
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiologic procedures, with a primary focus on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), in accordance with physicians' orders and established protocols. This role also includes providing X-ray services as needed. The technologist ensures all procedures are conducted with a strong emphasis on patient safety, quality imaging, and regulatory compliance. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role may involve clerical support tasks such as filing, maintaining records, and data entry. The MRI Technologist consistently upholds and promotes the organization's core values in support of its mission and vision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement (s): Determines patients' MRI needs by reading requests or instructions from physician and is able to explain MRI procedures to patients. Positions patient, sets up, and adjusts equipment to ensure appropriate placement for imaging and view of specific body area as requested by physician. Monitors video display of area being scanned and adjusts density or contrast to improve picture quality and is able to provide high quality images according to physicians' orders. Monitors the patient's condition before and after scan to ensure patient safety and comfort. Prepares, administers, and documents all contrast material/injection information as required by policy. Responsible for the use of patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff to ensure safety and comply with government regulations. Performs and logs required Quality Control procedures on all equipment according to standard procedures. Maintains and establishes protocols with cooperation of Radiologist.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in radiologic sciences or equivalent. One to two years related experience. Experience with CT, MRI, X-ray, and Radiation treatment planning preferred.
Computer Skills:
Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with
PACS/RIS
systems preferred. Ability to import and export diagnostic imaging records.
