Position Summary Atlas Surgery Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist / Radiology Technician to join our clinical team. The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiologic imaging services in accordance with provider orders, facility protocols, radiologic standards of care, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role supports patient care in the ambulatory surgery center by operating radiology equipment, assisting with imaging needs during procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting quality assurance activities, and ensuring equipment and work areas are clean, safe, and ready for use. Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform radiologic imaging procedures according to provider orders, facility protocols, and applicable radiologic standards of care. Operate radiology equipment, including C-arm and related imaging equipment, in a safe and appropriate manner. Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including explaining the process, positioning patients appropriately, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. Load or prepare the daily patient schedule in applicable radiology equipment or systems, as needed. Assist with imaging needs during surgical or procedural cases. Maintain accurate patient care records, imaging documentation, equipment logs, quality control records, and other required files. Clean, monitor, and maintain radiology equipment and the radiology work area in accordance with facility policies and manufacturer guidance. Report equipment concerns, maintenance needs, or software issues to the appropriate supervisor or vendor contact. Assist with room turnover and readiness between cases, as applicable. Follow radiation safety practices, infection control requirements, and applicable facility policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with personnel monitoring requirements, including radiation badge use, as applicable. Participate in required quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance activities. Assist with patient flow or coordination of imaging services as needed. Support other clinical or operational needs of the surgery center within the scope of the role. Required Qualifications Minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, Radiology Technician, or in a similar radiologic imaging role. Knowledge of radiologic safety standards, imaging procedures, equipment operation, and patient safety practices. Ability to document patient care and imaging-related information accurately and timely. Ability to work effectively in a surgical, procedural, or ambulatory care environment. Ability to communicate professionally with patients, providers, clinical staff, and vendors. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience operating C-arm or related radiology equipment preferred. Prior experience in an operating room, ambulatory surgery center, procedural, or outpatient setting preferred. Experience supporting imaging needs during surgical or interventional procedures preferred. Experience maintaining radiology equipment logs, quality control records, and related compliance documentation preferred. Familiarity with radiation safety monitoring requirements, including radiation badge use and related documentation preferred.
Licensure / Certifications
Current New York State Radiologic Technologist license/registration required, as applicable. Current ARRT certification required, if applicable to the role. Current Basic Life Support certification required, or ability to obtain within the required timeframe. Must maintain required licensure, certifications, competencies, and training applicable to the role.
Schedule / Work
Hours Schedule / Work Hours Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available. Shifts are typically 8 or 10 hours and may vary based on surgical schedule, procedural volume, patient care needs, staffing, and business operations. Compensation The expected compensation range for this position is $33.00 - $37.00 per hour . Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, qualifications, licensure/certification, skills, and internal equity. This range represents Atlas Surgery Center's good-faith estimate of the expected compensation for this position at the time of posting, in accordance with New York State pay transparency requirements. This position requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and assisting with patient positioning and transfers. The employee must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and assist with patient transfers, equipment movement, and patient-care activities, using assistance or mechanical aids when appropriate. This role also requires visual and auditory acuity for equipment operation, documentation, patient assessment, patient monitoring support, and communication with patients and the care team. The employee must be able to wear radiation protection equipment, including lead aprons and other protective devices, for extended periods as required. This role may involve exposure to radiation, blood, bodily fluids, sharps, infectious materials, cleaning agents, hazardous chemicals, medical equipment, and other clinical materials. Personal protective equipment, radiation safety protection, and personal radiation monitoring badges must be used as required.
