As an Interventional Radiology Specialist Assistant, this role opens doors to expanding your clinical expertise, working alongside accomplished healthcare professionals, and gaining exposure to diverse workplace practices. Schedule:
8:00am - 4:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver age-appropriate, compassionate care for patients throughout the lifespan Perform patient assessments, implement clinical protocols, and assist in radiologic procedures Support physicians in a wide range of procedures, including barium studies, joint injections, paracentesis/thoracentesis, abscess drain placements, bone marrow biopsies, and various tissue biopsies under imaging guidance Maintain procedure documentation and assure compliance with safety, radiation protection, and infection control standards Educate patients about procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide detailed pre- and post-procedure instructions Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to optimize workflow and maintain procedural readiness Respond fluidly to emergencies and uphold strict confidentiality of patient information
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved program recognized by New York State Education Department Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or closely related field (required) Current ARRT certification in Radiography; further certifications in CT, Ultrasound, IR (RRA) strongly preferred Active BLS required; ACLS highly desirable Advanced procedural skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic clinical environment
