Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an MRI Technologist, where you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Your expertise will help physicians accurately diagnose and treat patients by operating advanced MRI equipment and performing a variety of imaging procedures. Duties Operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce detailed images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the scan. Conduct specialized imaging procedures including CT (Computed Tomography), DEXA scans (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry), and sonography when required, to support comprehensive diagnostics. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety during all procedures. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate images for quality and diagnostic accuracy. Keep detailed records of procedures performed, patient information, and technical data in compliance with medical imaging standards. Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology, including anatomy knowledge, physiology insights, and diagnostic evaluation methods to enhance service quality. Requirements Proven experience operating MRI equipment with a strong understanding of medical imaging principles. Knowledge of CT scans, DEXA scans, sonography, and related diagnostic techniques. Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately interpret images. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control standards within a clinical setting. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations by analyzing images for abnormalities or issues requiring further attention. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams. Certification or licensure as an MRI Technologist is preferred; ongoing education in radiologic sciences is highly valued. Education:
Minimum - A.A.S. degree in
Radiologic Technology License/Certifications:
NYS License, certification as a radiologic, nuclear medicine or ultrasound technologist with formal MRI-specific training preferred
Experience:
Radiology Technology program (AMA approved 2-year program) + previous experience in diagnostic radiology. (Preferred - 1-2 years' experience in related radiology fields, with MRI experience) AK1
