SUNY Niagara is seeking a Radiologic Technology Technical Assistant to
support the daily operations of our rapidly growing Radiologic Technology program. This 10-month position plays a vital role in ensuring a
well-organized, safe, and effective learning environment within the radiologic technology lab. The Technical Assistant provides both
technical and administrative support to faculty and students, contributing directly to student success and the continued expansion and
excellence of the program. Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance during laboratory sessions, including
setup, operation, and breakdown of radiologic equipment Support faculty and students with lab activities, demonstrations, and
instructional needs Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and materials to ensure readiness and functionality Assist with
inventory management, ordering, and organization of lab resources Ensure adherence to safety protocols, radiation safety standards,
and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate records related to lab usage, equipment maintenance, and compliance Provide
administrative support to the program as needed, including scheduling and coordination of lab activities
To be successful in this role
the incumbent must possess excellent organizational and time management abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills as well
as have strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment. The 10 month work schedule consists of

invests in its community. Typical Work Activities Lab Setup and Maintenance:
Prepare and organize lab
equipment, materials, and resources required for radiologic technology lab sessions. Ensure that lab equipment is in proper working
condition and troubleshoot minor technical issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment following established
safety protocols.
Assistance during Lab Sessions:
Assist instructors and students during lab sessions, providing
technical support and guidance as needed. Set up and dismantle lab stations, ensuring that equipment is correctly calibrated and
functioning.
Equipment Management:
Inventory, track, and maintain records of lab equipment, supplies, and
materials. Coordinate with relevant departments for equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary.
Student
Support:
Provide guidance to students on the proper use of lab equipment and resources. Address technical questions and
concerns from students, fostering a positive learning experience.
Documentation:
Assist in documenting lab activities,
experiments, and student progress as required by instructors. Maintain accurate records of lab attendance, student performance, and
any incidents.
Lab Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines in accordance with radiologic
technology and college standards. Promote a culture of safety awareness among students and staff.
Assist with Program
Events:
Collaborate with faculty and program coordinators to support program-related events, workshops, and
orientations. Help set up demonstrations, simulations, and presentations for students and visitors.
Administrative
Support:
Assist in scheduling lab sessions, coordinating with instructors, and ensuring resources are available as
needed. Help with ordering and maintaining inventory of lab supplies.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on
trends and advancements in radiologic technology to provide relevant assistance and support.
Essential Functions
Must be
able to navigate relationships with diverse populations; Must be proficient in computer skills such as Microsoft Excel and word; have
excellent organizational skills; ability to prepare records and reports; must be able to interpret data and report on the results; must have
excellent communication skills both written and verbal; must possess good listening skills and be able to understand and follow written
and/or oral instructions; must have demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality; must be able to physically
perform the duties of the position. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related
field ARRT certifications or similar certification NYS Department of Health license in Radiologic Technology Strong technical skills and familiarity with radiologic equipment.
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Radiologic Technology or related field Experience working in a community college setting. Recent experience performing
administrative duties. Previous experience in a lab setting or educational institution
