Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team in Schenectady, New York. This role involves providing specialized nuclear medicine imaging services across various healthcare facilities, ensuring high-quality diagnostic evaluations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical imaging techniques, physiology, and anatomy, with the flexibility to travel and adapt to diverse clinical environments. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to patient care through advanced imaging modalities while supporting operational excellence. Responsibilities Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, including DEXA scans for bone density assessment and PET scans for metabolic imaging, adhering to established protocols and safety standards. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals accurately and safely, following aseptic techniques and radiation safety guidelines. Utilize comprehensive knowledge of physiology and anatomy to optimize imaging results and assist in diagnostic evaluation. Operate complex medical imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and technical data in compliance with regulatory requirements. Educate patients about procedures, addressing questions professionally to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety. Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and support clinical decision-making. Keep abreast of advancements in nuclear medicine technology and participate in ongoing professional development. Skills Proficiency in conducting DEXA scans, PET scans, and other nuclear medicine procedures with precision. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation processes. Knowledge of medical imaging principles and the operation of nuclear medicine equipment. Familiarity with aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures. Ability to interpret complex images accurately for diagnostic purposes. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams. Flexibility to travel between multiple healthcare facilities while maintaining high standards of care.
