Required Position Overview Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled MRI Technologist to join the Radiology Department. Under the direction of a Radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs a variety of radiology and MRI procedures requiring technical expertise and independent judgment. This role involves operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and a patient-first approach to care. Key Responsibilities Perform MRI procedures and other assigned radiology imaging studies according to physician orders and established protocols. Operate MRI and radiology equipment safely and effectively to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Apply prescribed imaging techniques and protocols while ensuring accuracy and quality standards. Ensure compliance with patient safety protocols and maintain a safe imaging environment. Monitor patient conditions and provide appropriate care and support throughout imaging procedures. Prepare and position patients for procedures while explaining examination processes and addressing concerns. Accurately document imaging procedures and maintain complete patient records. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring a positive patient experience. Collaborate with Radiologists and healthcare team members to support departmental operations. Assist with overall Radiology department functions and workflow as needed. Maintain imaging equipment and report operational concerns or issues appropriately. Prioritize patient-centered care and uphold high standards of quality and professionalism. Qualifications Graduate of a 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology required. Minimum 12 months of previous MRI experience preferred. ARRT certification in Radiology required. ARRT certification in MRI/MR Technology preferred. NYS IV Contrast Certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. New York State License in Radiologic Technology required. BLS certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Preferred Skills & Attributes Strong knowledge of MRI procedures, equipment, and safety standards. Excellent patient care and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-focused care.
