Summary:
Operates radiologic equipment to obtain diagnostic radiographs. Ensures all aspects of patient records are processed properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner. Performs other assigned duties as training and skills allow.
Formal Education Required:
a. Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved school of Radiologic Technology, registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. b. Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
Experience and Training Required:
a. Two (2) years experience as a radiographer preferred.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Ability to appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, and employees. b. Ability to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, and to apply and adjust restraining devices. c. Successful completion of training to perform other radiology procedures (e.g. select C.T. procedures, etc.) d. Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records management as directed by the practice or practices. e. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patient/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. f. Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy. g. Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality. h. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, patient's families, sales representatives, and the general public. i. Ability to read and interpret medical documents, which are commonly found in a clinic or physician office environment. Ability to write basic reports and correspondence. j. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. k. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. l.

Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
Level of Physical Demands:
a. Ability to lift and position patients. b. Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. c. Prolonged sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Some bending, stooping and stretching may be required. d. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. e. Working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. f. Exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. g. Lifting papers or boxes up to 100 lbs.
