Summary:
To provide Vascular Ultrasound Service to insure good patient flow, quality procedures, adequate coverage and efficient/cost effective productivity.
Responsibilities:
A. Maintain clinical knowledge of Vascular Ultrasound Service. 1. Keeps established Vascular Ultrasound Policies and Protocols current. 2. Coordinates patient management with other departments to ensure proper workflow and completeness of results. 3. Ensures that procedures are in place to evaluate quality, completeness and accuracy 4. Works with Ultrasound Clinical Manager to ensure excellent access, quality and service. B.
Patient Care:
1. Verify patient ID using two forms of ID in accordance with the National Patient Safety Goals. 2. Verify physician order. 3. Explain procedure and answer questions prior to the start of the examination. 4. Follow Established protocols for Ultrasound examinations. 5. Organize daily workload and assign priorities for flow of patients. 6. Inform patients of delays as they occur. 7. Provide information and resolve problems with staff and customers. 8. Ensure quality standards are being utilized throughout department. C.

1. Maintain patient documentation and records. 2. Utilize hospital computer applications to enter, view and process patient/exam data and charges. 3. Maintain policy and procedure manual. 4. Maintain and update all records required by licensing/government agencies. D. Completed Studies 1. Deliver completed/coded paperwork, pertinent to the procedure, to the radiologist/reading physician for interpretation. 2. Provide completed worksheet and adequate patient history with each procedure. 3. Check archive system for prior procedure performed at Doylestown Hospital. 4. Ensure that the current procedure and scanned documents are present in the
