6/4/2026 SUMMARY Under general supervision of the CT Manager, Lead CT Technologists, and the Imaging Coordinator according to established procedures, operates a CT scanner and related equipment in order to produce radiographs of any designated anatomical area. All essential functions performed in the position reflect age specific needs of the geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients. Fosters patient and family centered care and nursing services in accordance with the Brown University Health mission, vision, and values, with consideration of the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns. RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform complex procedures in CT in a busy Radiology Department. Assure quality results. Train fellow students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques. About the Department Department of five scanners both GE and Siemens. Work with state-of-the-art technology including use of GE Revolution Ascend, Ulrich CT Motion Injector. Teaching environment with training available for all types of cardiac imaging. Team environment with support staff assisting the technologist by transporting patients and performing ancillary duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a RI state Radiology license and CT supplemental license from the DOH. Must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT). Must hold a current CPR certification from
AHA, BLS
for Healthcare Providers. Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required, plus registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.
EXPERIENCE
Six months' experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus six months specialized training in the operation of the CT Scanner.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work location is generally in the CT Scan area or satellite areas where there is little discomfort due to noise, dust or temperature. Exposed to radiation, but there is little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed. Long periods of standing, along with walking, pushing portable equipment and lifting and positioning of patients is required.
