MRI Technologist - Summit Diagnostic Center Fountain City & Wellington Summit Medical Group, P.L.L.C. - 2.9 Knoxville, TN Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications BLS Certification Basic life support Full Job Description Summit Diagnostic Center Fountain City & Wellington is recruiting for a MRI Technologist . This is a full time opportunity. Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned) Prepares patients for MRI scans. Uses universal precautions on all patients. Collects pertinent patient history / information and relates to radiologist, which will contribute to the plan of care. Checks patients' charts for correct order, contraindication and other precautions. Prepares patients for procedures, including discussing with patients the process to be followed in performing the MRI procedures and obtaining patients' signatures for consent forms and other paperwork as needed. Positions patients and provides ear protection for the MRI exam. Performs optimum quality MRI scans according to radiologist's protocols. Makes sound decisions based on judgment within scope of their ability on technical or patient related problems. 8) Assists in quality control of the equipment by contacting appropriate personnel and notifies supervisor as required. Maintains daily log of patients, assists in compiling monthly statistical data, and assists with other documentation and / or reporting as requested. Prepares and reviews the images for technical quality. Stores images on optical disks and maintains these files for retrieval. Prepares scan room for MRI exams. Cleans, using the proper cleaning technique, and maintains adequate stock of linen and supplies. Performs all duties while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to all coworkers, management and the public. Demonstrates current competencies related to job position. Adheres to all aspects of the company's Corporate Compliance Program. Maintains strict confidentiality. Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients. Performs related tasks as requested by supervisor. Education Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology or Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Experience Preferably twelve months' previous work experience in MRI or other advanced modalities. At least twelve months' previous work experience in MRI preferred but not required. Certification/License Registered, or registry eligible within six (6) months of employment, in MRI through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
