Job Title:
Cytotechnologist (CT ASCP)
Location:
Nashville, TN (Greater Nashville Area)
Job Type:
Full-time, Permanent Shift:
1st shift, M-F 8:00-4:30 pm The Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our diagnostic laboratory team in Nashville. In this role, you will be a critical link in the patient care chain, utilizing microscopic analysis to detect cellular evidence of disease, pre-malignant conditions, and malignancies. You will work within a high-standard clinical environment that prioritizes accuracy, patient safety, and professional integrity.
Core Responsibilities Microscopic Evaluation:
Perform daily screening of gynecological and non-gynecological slides in strict accordance with established departmental protocols.
Data Management:
Accurately record findings, screening logs, and required departmental data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Technical Troubleshooting:
Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact test performance or the accuracy of patient results.
Quality Assurance:
Maintain effective QA/QC programs and assist with routine instrument maintenance and method troubleshooting.
Professional Communication:
Clearly relay pertinent findings or laboratory issues to supervisors and clinical leadership.
Compliance & Safety:
Uphold the highest standards of laboratory safety, corporate compliance, and HIPAA regulations to ensure the total security of protected health information (PHI).
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Completion of at least two years of college and graduation from an approved School of Cytotechnology .
Certification:
Current National Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) .
Licensure:
Must hold (or be eligible for) a valid Tennessee Cytotechnologist License .
Experience:
At least one (1) year of experience screening GYN and non-GYN slides is preferred, but highly qualified recent graduates may be considered.
