Job Description
The Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Program at the Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, X Ray Technologist. The TB Elimination Program works with community agencies, providers, and hospitals to identify persons who have active TB disease. Diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services are provided to all persons in Davidson County who are diagnosed with active TB disease. Contact investigations are conducted in partnership with patients who have active TB disease to identify, evaluate, and treat individuals who have been exposed to active TB. Directly observed therapy is provided to all persons with TB disease, children, and some high-risk contacts. TB Infection (TBI) treatment is available for all persons diagnosed with TBI and who accept treatment. If you have any questions about this position please contact MPHD HR at (615)-340-5640. Positions patients in front of the X-ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices, and provides appropriate radiation protection. Adjust switches regulating length and intensity of exposure and makes minor adjustments to equipment. Administers routine chest X-ray exams as ordered by the treating clinician. Maintains quality assurance by performing appropriate validity tests and keeping quality assurance records. Performs ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by treating clinicians. Maintains record of tests performed, i.e., radiologic report posting/charting. Assists with clinic and directly observed therapy (DOT) outreach duties. Assists with community TB screenings and research studies, and other duties as assigned. Graduate of accredited program for X-ray technologist. Limited or full Medical Radiologic Technologist Certificate (LMRT). Tennessee Division of Health-Related Boards issued certificate. Valid driver's license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Government's employment-based immigration programs.
